Catalogue Attributes and Listing Details
Catalogue attributes are the individual pieces of information stored against a listing.
They provide structured information that Cognivox can use when searching your catalogue and answering customer enquiries.
What Are Catalogue Attributes?
Attributes describe specific characteristics of a listing.
The attributes available depend on the type of catalogue and how it has been configured.
For a property catalogue, attributes might include:
- number of bedrooms;
- number of bathrooms;
- property type;
- location;
- asking price or monthly rent;
- furnished or unfurnished;
- parking;
- garden;
- availability;
- and other property features.
Other types of catalogue may use completely different attributes.
Why Structured Information Is Important
Where possible, important listing information should be entered into the appropriate catalogue fields rather than being included only in the description.
Structured information makes it easier for Cognivox to search and compare listings against a customer's requirements.
For example, if a customer asks for a two-bedroom property, the number of bedrooms should be stored in the appropriate listing field where one is available.
Completing Listing Details
When creating or editing a listing, provide as much accurate information as is reasonably available.
You do not need to invent information simply to complete every field.
If a detail is unknown, leave it unset where the catalogue allows this rather than entering an assumed value.
Attributes and Catalogue Searches
Cognivox can use structured listing information to narrow catalogue searches.
For example, a property enquiry might include requirements such as:
- location;
- minimum or maximum price;
- number of bedrooms;
- property type;
- whether the property is for sale or rent;
- and particular features.
The information available for searching depends on the attributes configured for your catalogue.
Listing Descriptions
The listing description can provide useful additional information that does not fit naturally into a structured field.
However, important searchable information should also be entered into its appropriate field where one exists.
This helps keep catalogue searches accurate and consistent.
Keeping Attributes Accurate
Update listing attributes whenever the information changes.
Particular attention should be given to information such as:
- price or rent;
- availability;
- status;
- and other details that may change over time.
Accurate structured information helps your Cognivox AI receptionist return more relevant catalogue results and provide customers with reliable listing information.
