Catalogue Availability

Catalogue availability tells Cognivox whether a listing is currently available.

Keeping availability information accurate is important because your AI receptionist may use it when answering customer questions such as:

  • "Is that property still available?"
  • "Is that car still for sale?"
  • "Is this product in stock?"
  • "Is that job still open?"

Availability Information

A catalogue listing may be considered available or unavailable depending on the information stored against that listing.

Availability may be affected by:

  • whether the listing is active;
  • its current status;
  • any configured availability dates;
  • whether it has been sold, let or otherwise completed;
  • or other catalogue-specific availability information.

The exact options depend on how your catalogue has been configured.

Keeping Availability Up to Date

Update a listing whenever its availability changes.

For example, a property may move through statuses such as:

  • available;
  • under offer;
  • let agreed;
  • sold;
  • let;
  • or unavailable.

Only use statuses that are configured for your catalogue.

How Cognivox Uses Availability

When a caller specifically asks whether a listing is still available, Cognivox can use the current catalogue information to answer the enquiry.

Cognivox should not assume that an older search result is still current when an availability check is required.

If current availability cannot be confirmed, the receptionist should not guess.

Removing Unavailable Listings

You do not necessarily need to delete a listing when it becomes unavailable.

Where appropriate, updating its status may be better than deleting it, particularly if you want to retain the listing for reference.

Delete a listing only when it is no longer required in your catalogue.
