Catalogue Categories

Catalogue Categories allow you to organise your listings into clear groups so Cognivox can understand and search your catalogue more effectively.

Categories sit beneath a catalogue listing type and help describe what kind of item or service a listing represents.

For example, a Property catalogue might use categories such as:

  • Residential
  • Commercial

and subcategories such as:

  • Flat
  • Detached
  • Semi-Detached
  • Office
  • Retail

The exact categories available depend on how your catalogue has been configured.

What Categories Are Used For

Categories help Cognivox:

  • organise catalogue listings;
  • understand the type of listing a caller is asking about;
  • narrow catalogue searches;
  • distinguish between different groups of listings;
  • and return more relevant results to callers.

A category should describe the type of listing rather than a temporary detail such as price, availability or location.
