Catalogue Links and External Listings
Catalogue listings can include links to relevant web pages or external listing pages where supported by your catalogue configuration.
This allows a catalogue entry to contain a reference to additional information available elsewhere online.
External Listing Links
An external link may be useful when a listing is also published on another website.
For example, a property may have a full listing available on:
- your own business website;
- a property portal;
- a letting website;
- or another relevant external service.
The catalogue can retain the appropriate link alongside the other information about the listing.
Adding a Link
When creating or editing a catalogue listing, enter the relevant web address in the appropriate field where available.
Make sure that:
- the link relates to the correct listing;
- the address is complete and accurate;
- the destination is appropriate for customers;
- and the linked information relates to the listing stored in Cognivox.
Keeping Links Current
External pages can change or be removed.
Review catalogue links periodically and update or remove links that are no longer valid.
If a listing has moved to a different web address, update the catalogue with the new link.
Links and the AI Receptionist
Where supported by the configured process, Cognivox can use the link stored with a catalogue listing when assisting with an enquiry.
The presence of an external link does not mean that Cognivox should invent or assume information that is not contained in the configured catalogue.
Important listing information such as price, availability, category and other searchable details should still be maintained accurately within the Cognivox catalogue.
External Information
Information on an external website may change independently of your Cognivox catalogue.
Keep your catalogue information up to date so that the AI receptionist has accurate structured information available when handling customer enquiries.
