Getting Started with the Cognivox Mobile App

The Cognivox mobile app gives you access to key Cognivox features directly from your mobile device.

The app is designed for existing Cognivox users. You must already have a Cognivox account before you can sign in to the mobile app.

Main Features

The Cognivox mobile app is organised into four main areas:

  • Telephone
  • Transcriptions
  • Chat Bot
  • System

You can move between these areas using the navigation bar at the bottom of the app.

Telephone

The Telephone section allows you to make outbound telephone calls using Cognivox.

You can:

  • Enter a telephone number using the on-screen keypad.
  • Paste a telephone number from your clipboard.
  • Select a telephone number from your device contacts.
  • Make an outbound call through Cognivox.

The mobile app may request permission to use your microphone and contacts when these features are required.

Transcriptions

The Transcriptions section provides access to your Cognivox telephone conversation history.

You can browse previous telephone conversations and open an individual conversation to view its transcription and associated information.

The conversations available to you relate to the currently selected Cognivox account.

Chat Bot

The Chat Bot section provides access to conversations received through your Cognivox website chatbot.

Conversations are organised by date, allowing you to review previous customer enquiries and the conversation between the customer and Cognivox.

When enabled, Cognivox can also send a notification to your mobile device when a website chat conversation has been completed.

Selecting the notification can take you directly to the relevant conversation.

System

The System section contains your Cognivox account and application settings.

From System you can:

  • View the currently active Cognivox account.
  • View your Cognivox account balance where available.
  • Add another existing Cognivox account.
  • Switch between saved accounts.
  • Remove an account from the device.
  • Log out.
  • Access Cognivox Help and Support.
  • View the Cognivox Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • View information about the Cognivox app.

Signing In

Open System and select Login.

Enter the email address and password associated with your existing Cognivox account.

The mobile app does not create new Cognivox accounts. If you do not already have a Cognivox account, account setup must be completed through Cognivox before you can use the app.

Using More Than One Cognivox Account

The Cognivox mobile app supports multiple saved accounts.

To add another account:

  1. Open System.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Enter the login details for the existing Cognivox account.

Once more than one account has been added, you can switch between them from the Accounts section.

Telephone history, chatbot conversations and other account information are displayed for the currently active account.

Notifications

Cognivox can use notifications to alert you about activity associated with your account.

For example, you may receive notifications when:

  • A telephone conversation has been completed.
  • A website chatbot conversation has been completed.

Selecting a notification can open the corresponding conversation in the Cognivox app.

If the notification belongs to another Cognivox account saved on your device, Cognivox can switch to the appropriate account before displaying the conversation.

Internet Connection

The Cognivox mobile app requires an internet connection for features that communicate with Cognivox services.

If your device is offline, network-dependent features will remain unavailable until a connection is restored.

Privacy and Permissions

Some Cognivox mobile features require access to services provided by your device.

Depending on the features you use, Cognivox may request permission to:

  • Use the microphone for telephone calls.
  • Access contacts when selecting a telephone number.
  • Send notifications about Cognivox activity.

You remain in control of these permissions through your device settings.

The Cognivox Privacy Policy is available from the System section of the app.

Removing an Account from Your Device

Removing an account from the Cognivox mobile app does not delete your Cognivox company account.

It removes the saved account and authentication information from that device.

You can sign in to the account again later if required.

Push Notifications

Cognivox can send push notifications to your mobile device to alert you about activity associated with your Cognivox account.

Push notifications allow you to see important Cognivox activity without having the app open.

For example, you may receive a push notification when:

  • A telephone conversation has been completed.
  • A website chatbot conversation has been completed.

Where supported, the notification contains information that identifies the relevant Cognivox activity.

Selecting a push notification can open the Cognivox app and take you directly to the corresponding telephone transcription or chatbot conversation.

Notifications and Multiple Accounts

If you have more than one Cognivox account saved on your device, push notifications can relate to any registered account.

When you select a notification belonging to another saved Cognivox account, Cognivox can switch to the appropriate account before displaying the corresponding conversation.

This allows you to receive notifications for your saved Cognivox accounts without manually switching accounts first.

Enabling Push Notifications

The Cognivox app will request permission to send notifications when notification access is required.

You must allow notifications on your device if you want to receive Cognivox push notifications.

If notifications have been disabled, you can manage the permission through your device settings.

Notification Delivery

Push notifications require an internet connection and depend on the notification services provided by your device platform.

A push notification is an alert to new Cognivox activity. The corresponding conversation information remains available within the appropriate section of the Cognivox app.

Getting Help

Additional help articles are available through Help & Support in the System section of the Cognivox app or from the Cognivox website.
